Stitch it - CD Sunday

Good morning I hope you had a lovely Christmas day and that Santa bought you what you wished for.

It's time for another challenge over at CD Sunday, this week the theme is entitled "Stitch It".  For my little DT creation I took images from Joanna Sheen's Ivory Cats. Aren't the family of kittens just so cute. My stitching is faux stitching and of course there is the patchwork effect paper, The frame was hand embossed and cut using my Mandala board, the flowers and scrolls were die cut on my Cuttlebug.and a MS punch was used to edge the bottom layer, all was mounted on to Centura Pearl card available from Crafters Companion.

This is a quick and easy one to assemble, just the cutting out that took the time.  Images are from Crafter Companion, Christmas Popcorn, glittered with Sakura clear glaze pen. Tag It - CD Sunday

The weeks just seem to fly by just lately, it's Sunday again already, that means a new challenge over at CD Sunday, this week the challenge is entitled "Tag It", so you could make some gift tags, very useful at this time of year, or do as I have done and use some tags on a card. I'm using one of other fav colours apart from purple, left to me everything would be purple, so I really have to make a conscious effort not make a purple project. I do hope you like it.

The base card is my all time favourite Centura Pearl from Crafters Companion, the dotty mirri is a Kanban special from QVC images and papers are from the new MCS Papercraft Library.  The edges and ribbon strip are punched with an MS punch.

Distressed - Gingerloft

It's time for the last challenge of the year over at Gingerloft, this week the challenge is Distressed. Not something I've done much of, I prefer clean cuts, but it made a nice change, and good to  do something different.  I chose to use Gingerloft's  Pierot image for this one.  I added a fancy edge with my MS punch, a couple of scrolls and some flowers die cut with Marianne designs dies. Matted and layered onto a couple of backing papers from CC Popcorn cd's.

Rockin Around the Christmas Tree !!

Wanted to think of a really corny title for this, but nothing sprang into my head.

I'm clebrating having a internet connection again, we got so fed up with all the connection problems and having to go to the awful internet cafe we bought a internet dongle thingummy, it will work out cheaper in the end than using the internet cafe at 20 mins for 1.20, when i typically spend 3 or 4 hours at a time on line it quickly adds up to lots, and it's so much more comfortable semi reclined with my feet up (how I am supposed to be) and the lappy, than trying to sit upright in the wheelchair (not what I'm supposed to do), which knocks me out of action for several hours afterwards, because my back, neck and legs lock up, then go into spasms.  Anyway enough of that. -  Far too boring.

George has been very busy and putting up the Christmas deccies, under my expert supervision, of course hehehe, so it all very festive now.  I made a few more different ones this year and re-vamped a few old ones.

Rainbow Lady's  challenge this week is Christmas Animals, I had a hard time trying to decide what to do for this challenge as I have so many christmas animal images, but decided to have this one as I haven't given House Mouse Designs an outing for a while now.   I just love the thought of those sweet rabbits decorating their tree with carrots like this.

I kept it simple as they are so lovely on their own, it's an easel card, I used an MS Snowflake corner punch and layered on to silver mirri, then cut some MS Snowflakes shapes from glitter paper to put on the base.

I'm also entering this into:

My DT card this week was made using images and papers from the latest  ooh-la-la-creations CD - Christmas Presence, I also used my ever favourite MS snowflake punches, some gold mirri card and Centura Pearl Pearlescent Card, to finish I made a tag and added some ribbon.

So why not enter one of your Christmas cards, it could win you a prize.

Bows

The second of todays posts, it's time for another challenge over at Gingerloft , This fortnight the challenge has the theme of Bows.  The digi I used was Butterly Iris  which is available from Tami's Gingerloft website.

I used my Promarkers to colour the image, the backing papers were from  Joanna Sheen's Pam West CD and Beatrix Potter CD by Crafters Companion,  the scrolls were cut using Marianne Designs die on my cuttlebug,  my base card was Centura Pearl from Crafters Companion, and linen mirri from Kanban.

I've seen and used this style card as a square cut previously and thought I would be clever and match the circle, half way through I wished I hadn't, it is so difficult to get the curves to match up,  believe me it's so much easier to use the square cut , ah well you live and learn, hehehe.

White Christmas

Hello fans !!, Well my internet problems continue, I've had to resort to using internet cafes for the time being, so the next few posts will be time scheduled, as I cannot risk not being able to post on a Sunday morning when the internet cafe is closed.  I haven't been to one for a few days as we've both been unwell, and anyway who wants to venture out in this awful weather, much better to stay home and craft away.
Enough of that,  this week at CD Sunday the theme is White Chritmas, I decided to use my Beatrix Potter "A Winter's Tale" CD & Stamp Kit that I won from the Crafters Companion competition recently. Sorry the photo is not better, rather a lot of reflection on it.

In addition to the images and backing paper from the CD and kit I used my fav MS Snowflake punch. linen mirri from Kanban, and Centura Pearl card from Crafters Companion.

Don't forget for your entry to qualify for entry into CD Sunday challenge, you only need to use a little something from a CD and follow the theme. So why not give it a go.

Shabby Chic - CD Sunday Challenge

This week the theme at CD Sunday is Shabby Chic, Remember you only have to use a small amount of something from a CD and follow the theme to enter, so why not get busy and have a go. I do hope you like my take on it.
I'm typing this in the hope that I can hold my internet connection long enough to complete it.  I haven't had a connection again for a few days now, it's driving me mad. So if you are reading this then hey ho I was successful at least for a short amount of time.  I've been busy making loads of cards and some jewellery for a local craft fair, held once a year, next week, poor George has been landed with making matching envelopes, I really should try to make my cards a standard size and buy the envelopes it would make life so much easier.

For this card I used Ooh-La-La Creations CD and the image and backing papers are from their Watercolour Memories CD. along with an MS punch and Pearlescent Card for the base and some dark green lightweight card for the layers.

Fireworks JIC # 19

Over at Just Inspirational this week the challenge is Fireworks/Bonfire,  if you're reading this it means bloggers scheduled post has worked, as I'm absent at the moment.

I used two layers of the window/curtain image which I then stamped with a small leaves stamp using versamark and embossed with a embossing powder, then coloured the rest of the curtains with promarkers, added some ribbon for thr tie backs, this was cut out and and acetate inserted for the window, the little vase was printed on to shrink plastic and shrunk.  Fireworks photo is from many years ago at a firework display.

So have some fun creating your shaped card and enter into the challenge.

I decided to make an easel card and used a Marianne Creatable die for the frame, then used the die to draw around for the shape of the base and backing for the easel.
The base card is from Hunkydory, I inked over the frame whilst the card was still in the die to accentuate the embossed bits, the digi image from Bugaboo is coloured with Promarkers.  I cut the flowers with Marianne Creatable die.

BP #4

Last one for today, yes I am keen to win something on this fab comp from Crafters Companion A winter Tales, in case you hadn't guessed, a big thank you Sara and team for the opportunity to try and win.

The download was fab to work with I still have enough bits and pieces to make at least one maybe even more cards, I'll see how I feel later on today, if I can fit the time in, as I neglected other things 'cos I was enjoying myself doing these.  and it took my mind off of feeling so yucky.

This was a good excuse to use my new impressabilities snowflake thingumy today, I used it twice, on the outside I ran it through the cuttlebug and then sponged some pale blue chalk ink on it whilst the mask was still in place (my first attempt at doing that), on the inside it is just as it came out of the cuttlebug. The silver snowflakes down the side are visible when the card is closed, which is not very clear from the main piccy .  The front image is from the free download as are the sentiments on inside and outside.    Cardstock is Centura Pearl, from CC.  I do love this card, the snowflakes made using an MS punch. Corners shaped with a chomper thingumy.

Also going to enter this into:

GOOD LUCK to all who enter.

BP #3

Entry #3,  Having great fun with the free downlaods from Crafter Companion for this A Winters Tale Challenge, as well increasing my Christmas Cards.

Papers from the download and main image from my BP CD's, and sparkled some bits with my Sakura Clear Claze pen, they are such a cute couple aren't they.
OOHps forgot to put in a couple of other links, forget my head one day,:

Totally Gorguss - Wild thing

BP #2

My 2nd entry for this Crafters Companion A Winters Tale competition.  I used the free downloads papers and an image from the BP set I already have and added one of the sledging rabbits from the download to it.

BP #1

Now I can't let my JIC teamie Karen have all the entries for the fab little competition by Crafters Companion in conjunction with the launch of the Beatrix Potter A Winters Tale Collection this week. So here are some of mine, now I'm not coughing and spluttering quite so much as I was, I do still have quite a high temperature and am really aching and quite shakey, I had devil of a job cutting out because of this,  so I hope it all clears up very soon as we are off on a short holiday this weekend.

The free download from CC was great thanks, you will see i've been using them in the cards and I still have enough to do some more cards.

For this one I had a rummage through my BP CD's to see what little creatures I could find in an appropriate size, to put on this snowy scene background, some of those tiny rabbits and squirrels were so fiddly to cut out, it' great for an easel card, all cardstock is Centura Pearl, available from C, . snowflake using an MS punch

JIC #12 A Christmas Card

Wow, Wow, Wow.  An interesting week, firstly I got selected onto the DT over at Just Inspirational Challenges and then I won another challenge yesterday with my entry Diamond/Star Shaped Easel Card, my first win, woohooo.

Anyway, this is my first DT card for Just Inspirational Challenges  I think I must have "stage fright" or something as I don't think it's one of my best, sorry, will do better next time.   I've had these Penguins from Joanna Sheens' Jane Netley Mayhew CD in mind for a Christmas card for ages, I didn't feel I wanted to put any other colours with them, so stuck with the black/white/silver theme. The embossed base card I bought from Create and Craft a while back.

Holly christmas card

Just for a change this is not an easel card, bet that surprised you.  Made using T bag papers in a style I was shown by my friend Ellen on the CC forum Live Crafting. Since she showed us all I've used this style a couple of times for birthdays and thought it was good for Christmas too.

Diamond/Star Shaped Christmas Easel

I do like easel cards, and have been working on coming up with some new shapes, this is my latest shape, quite different to the shape I came up with last week, at least I have an obvious name for this one unlike the one I did last week, which I'm not sure what to call. Once I  had finished playing about with scraps of paper for the shape and made a template it was actually a quick and easy card to make.
Star shapes made using pinflair stepper set, papers from MCS, Blue mirri from Kanban and base card Centura Pearl from Crafters Companion,  oohps took the piccy before I put "merry christmas" on to the tab I made for it.

Let it Snow

A very snowy card with a different snowman this time. On a different Easel shape

Again I have used the new Christmas Creations CD from Joanna Sheen. This time the snowman has been cut out twice and layered for a little extra dimension I used a Sakura Clear Sparkle to accent some areas of his clothing, although it doesn't show up well I'm afraid. White with Silver cardstock from Hunky Dory, plus some red mirri and some christmas silver mirri.

I am still frantically trying to get my Christmas cards finished,  only a few left to do now, because of other committments I have to finish them in the next two weeks.

The cute Snowman image is from Joanna Sheens' latest CD Christmas Creations, and is sprayed with Irridescent Spray from Crafters Companion.  The two pale turq papers are also from the CD, the two maroon papers are from Hunky Dory, and base card is Centura Pearl from Crafters Companion.  MS snowflake punches were used for the various snowflakes

A stitch in time - DT

It's time for challenge No. 10 over at Just Inspirational I've used this weeks freebie digi downloads from Bugaboo Stamps , coloured with promarkers, and added glitter for the threads, mounted her on to a cuttlebug embossed background, and a frame and the butterflies were cut on my robo. The base of the easel has an embossed button strip, ribbon with pins in it to continue the sewing theme. Lastly I made a sentiment on my PC using a safety pin font.

DT Call
I would love to be selected onto the DT, I like entering challenges and it would be great to be able to contribute and inspire people into this up and coming newer challenge. I like to try and create with different shapes, folds and depth to my cards, preferring clean lines as opposed to distressed edges.

I used Crafters Companion Platinum Collection and coloured the Popcorns' football strip in Berry Red Promarker as he is going to be playing for Liverpool, I am told red are their colours, no idea really, it's for my son's birthday. There are 3 different papers in this card as well as the layers of gold and red. and several embellishments.

This card also qualifies to be entered for:

My 1st Blog Award - whoopie

I'm so pleased I have been given this blog award from Wendy at wendyscraftingtimes
So as part of this award I must tell you why I started my Blog and why I keep it going.

I started my blog for me to keep a record of my completed cards & projects, and to show my friends and family, who are spread all over the world.

Then I found out about challenges, another great reason to make things,  there is so inspiration and information out there for when my mojo deserts me, it's so addictive,

Why I keep it going,  I'm learning so many new techniques from my new online friends, and I'm just plain nosey,  I love to see what people have been up to.  It's good to share

Now I have to give this award to 10 of my fav blogs, Now that is a difficult choice to make, there are so many good ones out there:

Christine - christine-ladylacecraftingblog
Cynthia - rainbowladyscraftyblog
Doreen - doreensdream
Elaina - moulinrougedesigns
Katie - katies-crafts
Linda - linda-linjancreations
Nicky - smurfscraft
Sarah - sarah-craftycreations
Jenny - starcylcrackers
Wendy - craftblog.craftybutterfly

To you and everyone else who visits my blog, a big thank you for being a part of my life.
